About me
I come from Võru, a small town in Estonia where nature and community shaped my earliest sense of story. My journey into filmmaking began in 2014 at the Baltic Film and Media School, where I studied Film Editing. That path led me across Europe, culminating in an MA in Film Editing from the Kinoeyes program in Lisbon and Edinburgh.
In the film world, my creative focus is on editing—it's where I translate feeling to the screen. While I’ve spent plenty of time as an assistant director and still enjoy the momentum of set life, editing is where I feel most in sync with the filmmaking process. It’s the space where I can dive deeper and shape something that feels honest and alive.
This focus has led to work on films that have been honored both in Estonia and internationally.
In 2022, the short film Mia & Liki, which I edited, won Best Short Film at the Estonian Film and TV Awards (EFTA), and I was nominated for Best Editing Director. The following year, I edited the experimental short Dear Passengers, which also won Best Short Film at EFTA in 2023.
Most recently, I worked with directors Anna Hints and Tushar Prakash on Sauna Day, which premiered at Cannes Critics' Week (Semaine de la Critique) in 2024. I'm currently editing Madli Lääne's short film Song of Sleepless Nights, a hybrid documentary selected for the 2025 Cannes Focus WiP. The short film follows teenage boys navigating complex relationships and emotional isolation—growing up between the real world and the digital one they were born into.
